Work Environment

Your role as a Physical Therapist Assistant will take place in a modern hospital setting equipped with the latest rehabilitation technologies and tools. Working from Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM, you will collaborate closely with licensed Physical Therapists and other interdisciplinary team members, including occupational therapists, nurses, and social workers. Key Responsibilities

• Implement individualized therapeutic exercise programs designed by the supervising Physical Therapist to foster recovery from surgeries, injuries, and chronic conditions.
• Conduct gait training and mobility interventions, ensuring each resident is empowered to participate actively in their rehabilitation journey.
• Monitor and meticulously document resident progress using our electronic medical records (EMR) system, ensuring compliance with quality standards and effective communication with the supervising PT.
• Encourage residents to engage wholeheartedly in their treatment plans while employing a positive and motivational approach that bolsters their confidence and fosters improvement.
• Ensure safety protocols are strictly followed, and equipment is used properly during therapy sessions, minimizing the risk of injury.
• Work collaboratively with fellow team members to coordinate care and contribute to multidisciplinary assessments and modifications of treatment plans.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The focus of your efforts will be primarily on older adults dealing with age-related conditions, post-surgical recovery, and those confronted with physical and cognitive limitations. By employing tailored therapeutic approaches, you will significantly impact their rehabilitation processes, helping them achieve better mobility, reduce pain, and regain independence.

Qualifications

• A valid New York State PTA license is required before applying.
• A Bachelor's degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• Current CPR/BLS certification to ensure the safety of patients during therapy.
• A genuine compassion for working with elderly individuals and those facing physical and cognitive challenges.
• Excellent communication skills with strong attention to detail, allowing for effective interaction with patients and documentation purposes.
• A proven ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary care team to maximize patient outcomes.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working in a hospital or similar clinical setting, particularly in rehabilitation.
• Familiarity with the needs and challenges faced by older adults, including an understanding of various age-related conditions.
• Previous involvement in implementing therapeutic exercise programs or gait training is highly desirable.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $60,000 to $75,000 , commensurate with experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes:
