Work Environment

As a Physical Therapist Assistant within a hospital environment, you will be part of an interdisciplinary team that includes physical therapists, physicians, and nursing staff. Our facility is equipped with state-of-the-art rehabilitation tools and modalities, and you will have the opportunity to utilize advanced therapeutic technologies in your practice. The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 9 AM to 5 PM, providing a balanced professional life.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute individualized physical therapy treatment plans designed by licensed physical therapists, ensuring adherence to medical standards and best practices.
• Implement therapeutic modalities and techniques tailored to patient needs, such as heat, cold, ultrasound, and electrical stimulation.
• Guide patients through exercises, ambulation, and activities of daily living (ADLs), using adaptive equipment as necessary to promote independence and functionality.
• Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of patient progress, updating progress notes that reflect treatment outcomes and any modifications required in the care plan.
• Collaborate with the supervising physical therapist, notifying them promptly when a patient requires further evaluation or modification of their care strategy.
• Participate in professional development activities, including in-services and educational programs, to stay current with the evolving practices in physical therapy.
• Refer patients to additional healthcare services as indicated, ensuring an integrated approach to their rehabilitation journey.
• Engage in other related tasks as assigned by supervisory staff, contributing to the overall efficiency of patient care.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will work with a diverse array of patients, including those recovering from surgery, injury, or chronic conditions. Our patient demographic includes children, adults, and the elderly, each presenting unique physical rehabilitation needs. You will play an essential role in assessing patient abilities and guiding them through personalized treatment plans that aim to enhance mobility, manage pain, and improve their overall quality of life.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy or a related field.
• Current Physical Therapy Assistant license issued by the State of New Jersey.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant in a clinical or hospital setting is preferred.
• Proficient communication skills, with an emphasis on patient education and teamwork.

Preferred Experience

Candidates with experience in manual therapy techniques, sports rehabilitation, or pediatric physical therapy will be viewed favorably. Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and a strong ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment are essential to success in this role.

Compensation and Benefits

Privado Chiropractic LLC offers a competitive salary ranging from $60,000 to $75,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
