This position is primarily remote, allowing our counselors to work from a location that is comfortable and conducive to effective therapy sessions. Our outpatient office in Scranton acts as a hub for administrative support, team meetings, and training opportunities. Counselors will have access to modern technology and electronic health record systems, ensuring seamless communication and documentation.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct initial assessments and sustained evaluations throughout the treatment process, ensuring thorough documentation from the first consultation to discharge.

• Develop comprehensive intervention and recovery plans tailored to meet the unique needs of individuals, couples, families, and groups.
\n
• Lead individual and group therapy sessions, utilizing evidence-based techniques to foster engagement and promote healing.
\n
• Regularly monitor and document client progress in alignment with treatment goals, adjusting care plans as needed to ensure optimal outcomes.
\n
• Work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, social workers, and other mental health professionals to create holistic intervention strategies.
\n
• Follow up on client care with psychiatrists when necessary, particularly for those admitted to inpatient facilities.
\n
• Identify potential barriers to recovery and implement preventive measures to support clients in their journey to mental well-being.
\n
• Provide guidance and support to family members and caregivers, helping them to navigate the challenges of mental health issues.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The Licensed Mental Health Counselor will work with a wide array of clients facing various mental health challenges including but not limited to anxiety, depression, trauma, and addiction disorders. Qualifications\n

• Master's degree or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid state licensure as a LMFT, LPC, or LCSW.
\n
• Successful completion and passing scores on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
\n
• Strong foundational knowledge of therapeutic techniques and clinical practices.
\n
• Proficiency in the use of electronic health record systems, particularly AVATAR.
\n
• Familiarity with best practices as established by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).

Preferred Experience\n

• A minimum of two years of experience in a clinical mental health counseling role.

• Demonstrated understanding of the interplay between physical health, emotional well-being, and addiction.

• Comfortable addressing a wide range of mental health challenges in both individual and group settings.

• Exceptional communication skills to effectively interact with clients and inter-professional teams.

Compensation and Benefits\n
