Nurse Practitioner Job Requirements

• Board certified Nurse Practitioner
• Active Virginia NP license required
• Active ACLS and BLS certifications required
• Active DEA registration required
• At least 1 year of advanced practice experience required
• Clean background with no malpractice or license issues
• Experience in neurosurgery, surgery, or inpatient hospital-based care preferred
• Comfort caring for adult and geriatric patient populations

Responsibilities

• Provide daily post-procedural care for inpatient neurosurgery patients
• Evaluate and manage patients in a hospital-based neuro setting
• Communicate with patients and families, including education and support throughout the care process
• Collaborate closely with the neurosurgery NP team and other members of the interdisciplinary care team
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently in EPIC
• Support a varying inpatient census while delivering high-quality, patient-centered care
