Land Development Practice Leader - San Antonio Growth

A well-established, full-service engineering firm is seeking a Land Development Practice Leader to build and grow our presence in the San Antonio, TX market. This is a senior leadership opportunity for an entrepreneurial engineer who thrives on winning work, developing talent, and delivering technical excellence. What you’ll do Practice & business leadership Lead the strategic direction and growth of the Land Development practice Build and expand client relationships across private and public sectors Drive business development, pursue strategy, and proposal leadership Oversee project financial performance — scope, schedule, and profitability Team & culture building Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of engineers and designers Foster a collaborative, accountable, and inclusive team culture Technical & project leadership Provide technical guidance and quality oversight on land development projects Support design work in Civil 3D and related tools as needed Ensure compliance with state and local jurisdictional requirements Oversee the preparation of plans, specifications, reports, and cost estimates What we’re looking for 15+ years in civil engineering with a strong land development background Proven success in business development, client management, and team leadership BS or MS in Civil Engineering (or related discipline); P.E. licensure preferred Strong understanding of project accounting, budgeting, and resource management Experience mentoring and supervising technical staff Proficiency in Civil 3D and standard engineering software Why this role?
