Legal Assistant Commercial Litigation
Addison Group is partnering with a well-established organization seeking an experienced Legal Assistant to support a busy litigation team. This opportunity is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities, and contributing to the success of legal operations. The position offers a collaborative work environment with a hybrid schedule following the initial training period.
The Legal Assistant will provide comprehensive administrative and litigation support to attorneys handling complex legal matters. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage deadlines while maintaining a high level of professionalism and client service.
Key responsibilities include preparing, editing, and finalizing legal correspondence, court filings, motions, pleadings, and other case-related documents; coordinating attorney schedules; maintaining case files and electronic records; communicating professionally with clients, courts, opposing counsel, and internal teams; assisting with trial and deposition preparation; supporting the onboarding of new legal matters; tracking attorney billable time; ensuring court filings and legal documents are submitted accurately and within required deadlines; handling confidential information with discretion; and providing additional administrative and legal support as needed.
Qualifications include a minimum of 3 years of experience in a Legal Assistant role, preferably within a litigation-focused practice; high school diploma or equivalent; experience supporting commercial litigation, civil litigation, or similar legal practices; proficiency with Microsoft Office 365; familiarity with electronic court filing systems and litigation procedures; strong proofreading, document formatting, and editing abilities; excellent organizational skills; effective verbal and written communication skills; ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment; and demonstrated professionalism, discretion, and commitment to client service.
