Job Description
The Medical Receptionist supports a multidisciplinary clinic serving general adult care and pediatric patients. This role prioritizes clear patient communication while coordinating scheduling, front desk operations, insurance verification, medical records, payments, and daily office workflows using Athenahealth. Growth opportunities include advancement to Lead Administrative Coordinator and a Practice Management pathway.
Responsibilities
- Schedule patient appointments and coordinate provider calendars.
- Welcome patients and manage front desk reception.
- Complete patient check-in accurately and efficiently.
- Verify insurance information and support registration workflows.
- Maintain and update medical records in Athenahealth.
- Coordinate incoming and outgoing phone communications.
- Process patient payments and related transactions.
- Support daily office coordination across the multidisciplinary clinic.
Preferred Qualifications
- 1+ years of experience in medical reception.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
