About This Role The Assistant Nurse Manager for the Emergency Department oversees team members and patient care activities during night shifts, ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care in a professional environment. Highlights Location: Plainview, NY Facility: Northwell Health Schedule: Full-Time, Night shift What You'll Do Manage and lead team members, operations, and patient care activities within the unit during assigned shifts. Collaborate with team members and nursing management to develop methods and techniques for patient care. Communicate and guide team members toward achieving department objectives. Promote and maintain high-quality patient and family-centered care. Create a professional work environment that encourages respect and accountability. Provide direction and guidance to team members during assigned shifts. Conduct performance reviews and provide input into hiring and promotions. Educate team members on new and existing department procedures and systems. Ensure adherence to established care delivery models and standards of practice. Identify opportunities for improving patient care delivery and team effectiveness. Requirements Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) required. Experience: 4-6 years of nursing experience required. 0-2 years of leadership/management experience required. Prior ED RN experience highly preferred. Licenses & Certifications: Current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State required. Specialized certifications as needed.
