DIETETIC TECHNICIAN

Job Description and Duties This position is located in the Food Services Department of the Veterans Home of California-Chula Vista. It involves assisting Registered Dietitians and the Food Service Supervisor with the nutrition care of residents; leading tray‑line staff to ensure proper food serving standards; obtaining resident information for nutrition care; utilizing a computerized database for meal planning, recipe and nutrition analysis; developing training programs for staff; keeping records and preparing reports. Working Conditions Employees must follow state or county public health guidelines and requirements for infectious disease prevention and control. Minimum Requirements Minimum qualification requirements are provided in the Class Specification. Candidates must hold a Dietetic Technician examination license before offer and may need to provide college transcripts if meeting educational pattern requirements. Special Requirements Successful completion of a live scan and a pre‑employment physical (including drug testing for certain civil service classifications) will be required.
