K&M Recruiting is leading a search for a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) in Tampa, FL. This role will involve guiding the financial health and sustainability of a $30M behavioral health organization. This on-site/hybrid role reports directly to the CEO and will oversee all financial activities, including strategic planning, budgeting, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of experience as a CFO with strong payer knowledge and experience operating in the behavioral healthcare space.
What you'll be doing
1. Financial Strategy and Planning
• Develop and implement financial strategies that align with company mission and strategic objectives.
• Provide strategic financial guidance and support to the CEO and Board of Directors to facilitate
informed decision-making.
• Works with executive and senior management teams to coordinate short and long-term budgetary
planning and costs management in alignment with company’s strategic plan.
• Lead the budgeting and forecasting process, including long-term financial planning and scenario
analysis.
2. Financial Management
• Oversees the financial activities of the corporation, directing the preparation of financial reports and
summaries including income statements, balance sheets, tax returns, and governmental agency
reports.
• Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements and reports in accordance with
regulatory requirements and best practices.
• Manage cash flow, investments, and capital expenditures to ensure financial stability and operational
efficiency
• Monitor key financial metrics and benchmarks, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and
objectives.
3. Risk Management and Compliance
• Identify and mitigate financial risks, ensuring robust internal controls and compliance with relevant
laws and regulations.
• Coordinates and oversees the internal audit process and manages relationships with external auditors.
• Ensure proper and timely filing of tax returns.
• Ensure adherence to financial policies, procedures, and ethical standards.
• Prepare and present financial reports to the CEO, Board of Directors, and other stakeholders, ensuring
transparency and accountability.
4. Financial Operations
• Supervise and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous
improvement.
• Implement and maintain effective financial systems and processes to enhance operational efficiency and
reporting accuracy.
• Manage relationships with funding agencies, donors, and other key financial stakeholders.
• Represent COMPANY. in financial matters with external partners, including community stakeholders
and regulatory bodies.
5. Strategic Leadership
• Collaborate with senior leadership to shape and execute organizational strategy and growth
initiatives.

• Work closely with the CEO and Development team to provide financial insights and support for grant
applications, donor reporting, and fundraising strategies.
6. Reporting and Analysis
• Analyze financial performance and trends, providing actionable insights to drive organizational
performance and program effectiveness.
• Prepare and present financial reports to the CEO, Board of Directors, and other stakeholders, ensuring
transparency and accountability.
• Monitor key financial metrics and benchmarks, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and
objectives.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or relevant field; Master’s degree preferred.
• Ten (10) years of experience in accounting and financial management practices.
• Five (5) years of experience in a senior management position.
• Solid experience in financial strategy, reporting, and risk management.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong understanding of financial regulations, compliance, and accounting principles (e.g. GAAP).
• Proficient in database and accounting computer application systems.
• Experience with non-profit organizations and funding agency relationships is advantageous.
• Level 2 Background clearance eligibility.
