Make a meaningful impact in the lives of students by lending your expertise as a Special Education Teacher in a significant support needs classroom. This role offers the opportunity to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment, working onsite at an elementary school for the 2026-2027 academic year.
Start and End Dates:
August 20, 2026 – June 3, 2027
Schedule:
34 hours per week, Tuesday to Friday (Mondays off!)
Workdays: 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM
What You'll Bring:
- Current and valid CDE Special Education licensure
- Experience serving students with significant support needs
- Strong instructional and classroom management skills
- Ability to develop and modify curriculum to meet diverse learner needs
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
- Commitment to fostering positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues
What You'll Do:
- Teach and support a classroom of students with significant support needs
- Develop, implement, and regularly update individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Adapt lesson plans and materials to accommodate students’ unique learning needs
- Monitor progress through data collection and ongoing assessment
- Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers
- Foster a welcoming and supportive classroom atmosphere
- Engage with families and caregivers regarding student development and progress
