Travel Nursing Job Details

• Job Title: Travel Registered Nurse – Labor & Delivery
• Assignment Type: 13-week travel nursing assignment
• Location: Lubbock, Texas
• Start Date: November 30, 2026
• End Date: March 1, 2027
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,050–$2,160
• Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 36 hours per week
• Shift: 12-hour day shifts, 7:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m.
• Patient Ratios: Approximately 1:1 to 1:2
• Weekend Commitment: Six weekend shifts during the assignment
• Unit: Labor & Delivery
• Charting: Epic experience required
• Orientation: 24 hours
• Scheduling: Self-scheduling with block scheduling available

Labor & Delivery Travel Nurse Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable state; compact license must be in hand at submission when applicable
• At least 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience
• Travel nursing experience is preferred
• Current BLS, ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate, and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications
• Demonstrated experience with Epic electronic health records; Epic experience is mandatory
• Current clinical knowledge of labor management, fetal monitoring, antepartum care, postpartum care, and obstetric emergencies
• Ability to provide two professional references covering at least one year of recent employment
• Willingness to work scheduled weekends and designated holidays as required by the assignment

Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, individualized nursing care to laboring, antepartum, and postpartum patients
• Perform obstetric triage and recognize changes in maternal or fetal condition
• Use external and internal fetal monitoring and identify abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
• Assist with vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, high-risk deliveries, and newborn stabilization
• Provide care for patients experiencing preeclampsia, eclampsia, hemorrhage, premature rupture of membranes, preterm labor, multiple gestation, and other high-risk conditions
• Administer and monitor medications and therapies including oxytocin, magnesium sulfate, antihypertensives, epidural infusions, and blood products
• Complete assessments, documentation, patient education, and care coordination in Epic
• Collaborate with physicians, midwives, respiratory services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team
• Support patients and families with clear communication, education, and compassionate care throughout the delivery process
