Embark on a rewarding contract position supporting K-12 students in a vibrant, urban school setting near Upper Darby, PA. Immediate openings are available for skilled paraprofessionals passionate about making a positive difference for students with special education needs and behavioral challenges. You’ll play a vital role in providing 1:1 support, educational guidance, personal care, and behavioral management, working closely with students and school staff on-site.
Key Qualifications:
- High school diploma required
- CPR certification (link to obtain provided if needed)
- Prior school-based paraprofessional experience
- Experience with SPED and behaviorally challenged students
- Comfortable supporting students in all grade levels (K-12)
- Willingness to assist with toileting/diapering and personal care
- Understanding of changing student needs, behavioral management, and elopement prevention
- Ability to provide educational support in a classroom or one-on-one setting
- Reliable transportation is a must
- Obtain/complete all required PA clearances
- Prepared to work in an urban educational environment
- Strong professional references required
- Open to Zoom interviews
- Must be transparent with district affiliations
Position Responsibilities:
- Deliver consistent, compassionate support for students with diverse needs
- Manage challenging behaviors appropriately and proactively
- Work collaboratively with teachers and school staff to foster academic and behavioral success
- Adapt to the fluctuating needs of students daily
- Provide direct support for assigned students, including personal care tasks when necessary
- Maintain dependable attendance and communication
This full-time, onsite contract runs through June 12, 2026, with only three candidate presentations accepted per position. Candidates who meet the requirements and demonstrate a passion for student support will receive top consideration for onboarding.
