Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Sous Chef to join our culinary leadership team at Gjelina NYC. This role is ideal for someone who leads by example, thrives in a fast-paced, quality-driven kitchen, and is passionate about developing people.

Working alongside the Executive Chef, the Sous Chef will help oversee daily kitchen operations, maintain exceptional food quality and consistency, coach and develop the culinary team, and ensure operational excellence while fostering a respectful, collaborative workplace.

What You'll Do

• Lead and support daily kitchen operations.
• Coach, train, and develop BOH team members.
• Maintain the highest standards of food quality, consistency, and presentation.
• Assist with menu development, costing, and recipe execution.
• Manage inventory, purchasing, scheduling, and labor costs.
• Ensure compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and health regulations.
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and accountable team culture.
