Description
- Conduct detailed evaluations across pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics using standardized tests and observational methods.
- Create individualized treatment plans that effectively address both immediate and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing goals.
- Deliver personalized speech therapy that encompasses communication, language, speech fluency, voice, and swallowing.
- Work collaboratively alongside physical therapists, occupational therapists, physicians, nurses, caregivers, and family members to design integrated care strategies.
- Provide education and resources to patients and their families to encourage progress beyond the clinical environment.
- Participate in occasional inpatient speech therapy assessments and treatments, ensuring a seamless continuum of care as patients navigate their journey toward recovery.
- Keep meticulous documentation that complies with state, federal, and organizational standards in a timely manner.
- Engage in continuous learning and professional development to stay abreast of advancements in the field.
Education
- A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Successful completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY), if not yet certified by ASHA.
Certifications
- Current state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to be obtained within the first 30 days of employment.
