Assistant Warehouse Manager – Queens, NYC

As one of the world’s most well-known names in luxury textiles, Christopher Hyland Inc. relies on the efficiency of its fulfillment centers. Currently, seeking an Assistant Warehouse Manager to support in overseeing operations at our Queens fulfillment center

Job Description:

Skilled multi-tasker who can manage the receiving, handling, storing, picking and packing activities of the warehouse, ensuring that quality standards are met or exceeded; must achieve inventory accuracy and coordinate order fulfillment.

Objectives and Responsibilities of this Role

Support in overseeing and managing 5 employees:

• Receive and Ship orders in a timely and organized manner
• Inspect equipment, tools, and machinery regularly, and oversee general maintenance when necessary
• Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by enforcing standards and procedures, while complying with legal regulations

Manage the flow and quality of work to maximize efficiency:

• Supervise daily warehouse activities, including quality assurance, inventory control, space management, logistics, floor productivity, shipping, and customer service
• Ensure that the warehouse operates at peak efficiency by aiding in supervising, organizing, and training of warehouse employees and monitoring operational goals; customer satisfaction, the primary goal.

Required skills and qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Three or more years of experience in a warehouse role managing hourly employees
• Proficiency with warehouse procedures and policies
• Highly-motivated, with excellent organizational, problem-solving and leadership qualities
• Ability to work collaboratively with all levels of company staff and deliver effective feedback, written and verbal
• Necessary to be agile, able to lift and move rolls of fabric, some only weighing a few pounds, others as much as 40 to 80 pounds (the heavier rolls, with assistance)

Preferred skills and qualifications

• Associate’s degree (or equivalent) in logistics or supply chain management
• Ability to communicate in more than one language
• Familiarity with UPS Worldship
