Vice President of Logistics, ManufacturingPittsburgh, PACompensation: $175,000 to $235,000 per year, plus bonus (up to 30% of base) and 401(k)A multi-site manufacturer serving the mining, construction-products and heavy-materials industries is hiring a Vice President of Logistics to lead enterprise-wide logistics and distribution strategy across the company and its affiliated businesses. This role owns the safe, reliable and cost-effective movement of inbound supplier freight, intercompany materials, work-in-process and outbound finished goods, spanning company-operated fleet, third-party transportation, rail, freight forwarding, warehousing and distribution. The position is based in Pittsburgh and requires availability to travel approximately 40% of the time.Schedule Full time, based in Pittsburgh, PA. Approximately 40% travel required to support logistics operations across company sites and affiliated businesses.Compensation $175,000 to $235,000 per year base salary, plus a bonus target of up to 30% of base and a 401(k) program.What You'll DoThis role develops and executes an enterprise logistics strategy aligned with the company's growth plans, customer-service commitments, operating requirements, margin objectives and working-capital goals, leading and coordinating inbound, intercompany and outbound logistics across company-operated fleet, dedicated and common carriers, rail, intermodal transportation, freight forwarding, expedited transportation, parcel services, warehousing and distribution. The VP establishes a common logistics operating model across the company and its affiliates, including standards for dispatch, routing, load planning, shipment tendering, tracking, delivery confirmation, freight settlement, claims and exception management, and evaluates the economics and performance of the company's private fleet, including utilization, maintenance, driver capacity, safety, backhaul opportunities and owned-versus-outsourced transportation decisions.The role optimizes the logistics network across plants, suppliers, warehouses and customers, and partners with Procurement and Legal to negotiate carrier, rail, freight forwarding, brokerage and third-party logistics agreements, establishing governance for transportation terms, freight responsibilities and Incoterms. The VP owns the logistics budget, forecasting, cost-reduction pipeline and financial performance reporting, delivering measurable EBITDA improvement through freight productivity, network optimization and asset utilization, while strengthening freight accrual, payment, audit and carrier-settlement controls.This position also leads the logistics technology roadmap (transportation management, warehouse management, fleet telematics, route optimization, ERP integration and business intelligence), establishes an enterprise logistics dashboard covering safety, cost, fleet utilization and customer-service metrics, and partners across Operations, Procurement, Sales, Customer Service, Finance, IT and Safety to align logistics capacity with production plans and growth initiatives. The VP leads resolution of major customer-delivery and carrier disruptions, develops business-continuity plans for critical lanes and facilities, supports acquisition diligence and integration from a logistics standpoint, and builds and develops a high-performing logistics leadership team, including organizational design and succession planning across corporate, regional and site-level functions.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Transportation, Operations, Engineering, Business, Finance or a related discipline10 or more years of progressive experience in logistics, transportation, distribution, supply chain or related operations leadershipAt least 7 years of senior leadership experience within a multi-site industrial, manufacturing, mining, steel, construction-products or similarly complex operating environmentExperience managing both company-operated fleet activities and third-party transportation providersStrong working knowledge of truckload, less-than-truckload, dedicated fleet, rail, intermodal, freight forwarding, expedited transportation, warehousing and distribution operationsDemonstrated success negotiating major transportation, carrier, warehouse, brokerage and third-party logistics agreementsStrong financial acumen, including logistics budgets, forecasts, cost models, capital investments and cost-to-serve analysisProven use of data and KPI discipline (including pivot tables) to improve safety, service, productivity, cost and asset utilizationFamiliarity with transportation management systems, warehouse management systems, fleet-management platforms, telematics, ERP systems and business-intelligence toolsAbility to define and redefine logistics processes across multiple businesses, facilities and regionsWillingness to be based in or spend significant time in Pittsburgh, PAAbility to travel approximately 40%Preferred QualificationsMBA, master's degree or other advanced business, technical or supply-chain degreeProfessional certifications such as APICS CSCP, ASCM CLTD, Certified Transportation Professional or comparable credentialsGlobal logistics experience, including international transportation, freight forwarding, customs and import/export activitiesExperience leading enterprise transformation, process standardization, technology implementation or acquisition integrationExperience designing or optimizing distribution networks, transportation lanes, fleet structures and warehouse footprintsCompensation and Benefits$175,000 to $235,000 per year base salaryBonus target of up to 30% of base salary401(k) programTo apply, submit your resume for consideration
