Kitchen Manager - High-Volume Casual Dining Restaurant

A high-volume, full-service casual dining restaurant in Valley Stream, NY is seeking an experienced Kitchen Manager to lead back-of-house operations and ensure consistent food quality, safety, and execution standards in a fast-paced environment.


This role is responsible for overseeing all kitchen operations, including staff supervision, food preparation, inventory control, cost management, and compliance with health and safety regulations. The ideal candidate is a strong culinary leader who thrives in high-volume service, maintains high standards under pressure, and can develop and mentor a diverse kitchen team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily BOH operations including line, prep, and expo coordination
• Lead, train, and develop kitchen staff to ensure consistency and efficiency
• Maintain food quality, presentation, and portion control standards
• Manage inventory, ordering, receiving, and vendor relationships
• Control food cost, waste, and labor targets in alignment with business goals
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation regulations
• Partner with FOH leadership to ensure smooth service execution
• Assist with scheduling, staffing, and hiring of kitchen team members
• Implement and maintain kitchen systems, SOPs, and training programs

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of kitchen leadership experience in a high-volume restaurant
• Strong understanding of food cost control, inventory management, and kitchen operations
• Ability to lead, train, and motivate a diverse team in a fast-paced environment
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards (ServSafe preferred)
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
