Manager, Professional Development

Position Manager, Professional Development Location Washington, DC Job Summary Reporting to the Director, Professional and Clinical Affairs, the Manager, Professional Development is responsible for leading and coordinating early‑career and in‑training professional development programs, including the Early Career Forum (ECF), Endocrine Mentor Day (eMD), Research Experiences for Graduate and Medical Students (REGMS), and early‑career awards and networking activities. The role involves program planning, implementation, participant engagement, volunteer and mentor coordination, evaluation, reporting, and cross‑departmental collaboration. Responsibilities Lead assigned early‑career and in‑training programs, manage application and review processes, participant communications, mentor coordination, workshop execution, ongoing engagement and post‑program follow‑up. Handle program logistics and represent the Society professionally at conferences, workshops and other events. Support grant and funded program deliverables by ensuring alignment with funder policies, collecting data, maintaining records, and contributing to reports. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (Marketing, Development, Governance, Finance, etc.) to coordinate timelines, deliverables, materials, and reporting. Manage honoraria and travel reimbursements, reconcile with Finance, and maintain accurate program data in the Society’s systems. Provide responsive, member‑centered support to applicants, participants, faculty and volunteers. Maintain shared planning tools, templates, dashboards, and documentation to support consistency and reporting across the portfolio. Act as liaison for assigned committees, managing meetings, agendas, materials, discussions, decisions and minutes. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required; experience in program/project management essential. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills working with diverse stakeholders. Demonstrated professionalism, discretion, sound judgment and service orientation. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail. Ability to prioritize competing deadlines, develop work plans, track deliverables and follow through under pressure. Strong technology proficiency with Microsoft Office, member databases, project management software, virtual meeting platforms, and program administration tools.
