Junior Accountant – Japanese Bilingual Location: New York, NY Salary Range: $53K – 58K Schedule: Full-Time, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM Work Style: On-site for the first 3 months; hybrid schedule available thereafter (3 days/week in office) A well-established global company is seeking a Japanese-English bilingual Junior Accountant to join its New York accounting team. This is a great opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career professional looking to build hands-on accounting experience in a supportive corporate environment. Candidates with an Accounting degree may be considered even without prior professional accounting experience. Key Responsibilities Support daily accounting and administrative operations Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable activities Prepare journal entries, bank reconciliations, and supporting documentation Assist with monthly and year-end closing Review employee expense reports and supporting documents Maintain invoices, payment records, and other accounting documentation Support intercompany reimbursement and account reconciliation processes Assist with financial and tax audits Prepare internal accounting reports and maintain accurate financial records Communicate with the company's headquarters in Japan regarding invoices, reimbursements, and related accounting matters Provide general accounting support as needed Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field preferred Recent graduates with an Accounting major are welcome to apply 1–2 years of accounting experience is preferred but not required Strong Japanese reading and writing skills, particularly for business email communication Professional working English skills for internal communication Basic understanding of accounting principles Strong attention to detail and accuracy Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and other standard office applications Ability to manage routine tasks consistently and meet deadlines Flexible and comfortable working in a team-oriented environment Additional Information The accounting team is well established, with many long-tenured employees, offering an opportunity to learn from experienced professionals and potentially take on broader responsibilities over time.
