CAR-T Nurse Coordinator

This position is full time, 40 hours per week. The CAR-T Nurse Coordinator serves as the primary clinical coordinator for patients undergoing cellular therapy, including Chimeric Antigen Receptor T-cell (CAR-T) therapy and other immune effector cell therapies. The coordinator provides comprehensive care coordination across the continuum of treatment, ensuring compliance with institutional, regulatory, sponsor, and manufacturer requirements while delivering exceptional patient-centered care. The CAR-T Nurse Coordinator acts as a liaison among patients, caregivers, physicians, advanced practice providers, inpatient and outpatient teams, apheresis services, cellular therapy laboratories, investigational pharmacies, and external treatment centers to facilitate safe and timely treatment delivery. Coordinates care for patients receiving treatment in a specialty service, including the evaluation, assessment, scheduling, consultation and treatment of patients in order to implement a seamless progression of care to meet the patient's needs.

Essential responsibilities including but not limited to:

• Collaborates with physicians and other health care providers to coordinate the care for patients from referral/consultation to discharge /follow up. Assists with pre-authorization process.
• Serves as contact and facilitator to receive consults and patient information. Coordinates and ensures all patient scheduling including but not limited to consultation, diagnostic and treatment procedures.
• Gathers information for history and physical. Performs and documents evaluations and assessments of patient. Assists in ordering labs, x-rays, and diagnostic procedures.
• Works in collaboration with surgeons and physicians in educating the patients and their families in medical care. Assists in development of patient/family educational materials. Participates in patient rounds and case conferences.
• Updates clinical knowledge and skills through consultation, formal and informal education, and review of literature for self and clinical team. Provides leadership for process improvement related to the care of these patients.
• Makes and answers patient phone calls, both pre and post treatment/procedure, from patients referring providers, and outside facilities (hospitals, rehabilitation centers, physician offices).

Required Qualifications:

• Associate's degree in Nursing required. Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
• License Registered Nurse required., and Certificate 1 Basic Life Support required.
• 1-3 years related work experience required.
• American Heart Associate - Basic Life Support Certificate
• Experience with computer systems required, including web based applications and some Microsoft Office applications which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access.

• Social/Environmental Requirements: Work requires close attention to task for work to be accurately completed. Intermittent breaks during the work day do not compromise the work.
• Work is varied every day and the employee needs to be adaptable to respond to these changes and use independent judgment and manage priorities.

• Physical Requirements: Medium work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and or up to 20 pounds of force frequently. Job is physical in nature and employee needs to stand and/or move around through the majority of their shift. This job requires constant walking, standing, Endurance-working up to 3-4 hours without a break, frequent bending neck, bending waist, twisting neck, twisting waist, Power Grasping using both hands, Fine Manipulation using both hands, Pushing/Pulling using both hands, Keyboard use, Reaching-above shoulder height, Reaching-below shoulder height, Lifting and carrying items weighing up to 50 lbs, Pull up and/or reposition patient weighing up to 100 pounds without assistance, Pull up and/or reposition patient weighing up to 250 pounds with assistance, Pushing items weighing up to or more than 100 lbs, Push a wheelchair or wheeled bed containing a patient weighing up to 250 pounds, with assistance.

Pay Range:

$39.14 - $101.14

The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law. Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices, as applicable to the position and in accordance with the law.
