About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience required in ICU. Preferred 4 years of experience. License: California RN License Certifications: BLS (AHA) ACLS NIHSS Must-Have: Previous charge experience preferred. Experience with Epic charting system required. Trauma Level I experience required. Description: The Registered Nurse will provide critical care to patients in the ICU. Responsibilities will include arterial line management, chest tube insertion and removal assistance, and BiPAP/CPAP management. The role involves administering blood products and caring for ventilated patients. Candidates should have experience with central line care and management. Knowledge of chronic and acute renal failure is essential. The nurse will manage continuous IV sedation and acute stroke patients. Experience with CVVHD/CRRT is preferred but not required. Candidates should be familiar with ECMO, external ventricular drain management, and FloTrac/Vigileo monitoring. The position requires skills in high flow nasal cannula and hypothermia protocol. ICP monitoring and infection prevention will be part of daily tasks. The nurse should be able to interpret arterial blood gases and dysrhythmias. Isolation precautions and PPE management are mandatory. Candidates should be able to manage IV insulin protocols and dysrhythmias. Experience with multisystem organ dysfunction and neuro ICU care is expected. Phlebotomy and PICC line management are required skills. Post-neurosurgery management and procedural sedation administration are part of the role. Candidates must be comfortable with pulmonary artery line monitoring and sheath removal. The nurse should have experience with spinal cord injury care and starting and maintaining IVs. Suctioning techniques (ETT, NT) are also necessary. The nurse will titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips as needed. Experience with transcatheter aortic valve replacement and valve repair or replacement is preferred. Ventilator management and ventricular assist device care are essential components of this role.
