A district near Ypsilanti, MI is urgently searching for two dedicated educators to provide in-person instruction and support for middle and high school students in a resource program focused on functional life skills, community-based learning, and academics. Additionally, we are seeking a Special Education teacher willing to take on a 7th grade caseload, ensuring each student receives attentive, individualized support.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid Special Education Teacher certification
• Previous experience with resource programs or functional life skills preferred
• Comfortable adapting curriculum to meet a variety of learning needs
• Strong classroom management and collaboration skills
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment
• Excellent communication skills for working with students, staff, and families

What You'll Do:

• Deliver engaging academic instruction tailored to individual education plans (IEPs)
• Support students’ development of essential life skills for independence
• Coordinate and facilitate community-based instruction and learning opportunities
• Contribute to team meetings and work collaboratively with general education staff
• Oversee student progress, regularly documenting performance
• Advocate for student needs and maintain positive relationships with families
• Foster a classroom atmosphere that encourages growth and confidence
