You'll have the chance to support students in developing independence, social skills, and academic growth, as well as oversee the 7th-grade special education caseload and collaborate with a passionate team.
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification (state credentials required)
- Experience working with middle and high school students
- Knowledge of resource programs emphasizing functional life skills and community integration
- Strong understanding of IEP processes and compliance
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities
- Proven capacity for collaboration within multidisciplinary teams
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver personalized instruction to students in 6th-12th grades, supporting academic and life skills development
- Design and implement engaging lesson plans and adapt curriculum to individual needs
- Oversee the 7th-grade special education caseload, developing effective strategies for student progress
- Collaborate with general education teachers, families, and support staff to foster a positive learning environment
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute insights for individualized educational planning
