Mitsubishi Chemical Advanced Materials is seeking an Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist to join our team in Reading, PA.In this role, you'll help lead Environmental, Health, Safety, and Security activities across the facility, partnering closely with Operations and site leadership to reduce risk, strengthen compliance, and continuously improve EHS performance. You'll also play an important role in employee training, auditing, sustainability initiatives, and creating a culture where safety is everyone's responsibility.If you're an EHS professional who enjoys being visible on the plant floor, collaborating across teams, and turning safety and environmental priorities into action, we'd love to hear from you.What You'll DoChampion a Safe & Healthy WorkplaceHelp drive the facility toward an injury-free workplace through proactive EHS leadership and employee engagementPartner with Operations to identify and reduce workplace EHS risksSupport effective and responsive corrective actions following safety or environmental incidentsProactively identify and address safety risks throughout the facilityPromote strong housekeeping and 5S practices across the siteSupport EHS Management Systems & ComplianceDevelop, implement, and maintain Environmental, Health, Safety, and Security Management System requirements through the Business Excellence System (BES)Monitor, evaluate, and report on the effectiveness of the BES program and key EHS indicatorsIssue and facilitate corrective actions and assess their effectivenessHelp ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, regulatory requirements, and Mitsubishi Chemical Group Safety StandardsConduct raw material reviews to ensure alignment with EHS standardsLead Audits & Continuous ImprovementParticipate in the site's corrective action, internal auditing, and continuous improvement programsConduct local EHS audits, review findings, and recommend corrective actionsCoordinate EHS activities related to operations, raw materials, and third-party auditsIdentify opportunities for continuous improvement and partner with departments to implement solutionsServe as a facilitator and coach for improvement teams focused on effective problem-solvingBuild EHS Awareness & EngagementProvide EHS training to employees throughout the facilityFacilitate EHS awareness and education across the organizationMentor teams and support improvement initiatives that strengthen safety performanceMaintain a visible EHS presence through regular interaction with employees and leadersReinforce the importance of individual and team accountability in achieving EHS objectivesDrive EHS Planning & PerformanceCoordinate the execution of comprehensive annual EHS plans for the Reading siteDevelop and communicate EHS leading indicators and performance metricsMonitor performance and identify opportunities to strengthen site EHS resultsPartner with departments to address EHS improvement opportunitiesSupport Americas EHS projects as assigned by the Americas EHS ManagerSupport SustainabilityChampion KAITEKI initiatives and help drive sustainability at the sitePromote responsible environmental practices and help ensure the facility remains a good environmental neighborSupport efforts that reduce environmental incidents and strengthen environmental complianceWhat We're Looking ForBachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, Business, or a related field preferred, or 3–5 years of relevant experienceManufacturing experience preferredStrong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively one-on-one and with groupsStrong interpersonal skills and a collaborative, team-oriented approachGood mechanical aptitude and an understanding of industrial equipmentStrong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple prioritiesEffective decision-making and problem-solving skills, including the ability to identify, analyze, and resolve issuesWhat Will Help You SucceedWe're looking for someone who can combine technical EHS knowledge with a hands-on, collaborative approach.
