The role: Banking Operations Lead

We're looking for a Banking Operations Lead to build and run the banking backbone that moves several hundred million euros of client money every month. This is a builder's role, not an operator's: you'll own how Spiko's payment rails, settlement flows, and FX and credit mechanics work today, and design the systems, procedures, and controls that let them scale as Spiko grows across Europe.

Reporting to the Head of Finance and working closely with Product, Engineering, and Legal & Compliance, you'll monitor daily banking operations, automate whatever is repetitive, and shape Spiko's banking architecture as it becomes increasingly complex across new financial products, currencies, and markets

Key responsibilities

Run and automate daily banking operations

• Monitor daily operations : oversee Spiko's banking flows end-to-end and keep payments and settlements running smoothly.
• Automate relentlessly : if a task is repetitive, turn it into a process or a script rather than a recurring manual chore.

• Manage banking flows : handle SWIFT, SEPA, and multi-currency settlements, and match incoming wires with client orders, resolving mismatches and blocked operations.

• Manage liquidity : ensure timely settlement across all flows.

Design and build Spiko's banking system

• Design the architecture : build and evolve Spiko's banking system as it grows more complex across FX, stablecoins, credit, and new financial products.

• Partner with Product & Engineering : deliver infrastructure projects such as payment flows in stablecoins or FX.

• Build procedures and controls : create procedures, first-line controls, and automations that let the banking system scale without breaking.

• Launch new products : contribute end-to-end to the banking setup of new financial products, from design to go-live.

Own banking partner relationships

• Manage banking providers : own relationships with our banking partners across payments, FX, and the depositary.

• Negotiate and onboard : work with Legal & Compliance on new agreements with banks and partners, and coordinate on risk-control matters.

Strengthen risk, controls, and reporting

• Reinforce controls : implement and improve first-line controls on client money flows.

• Support regulatory reporting : contribute to regulatory and risk reporting, including prudential reporting to the ACPR.

• Improve robustness : strengthen the auditability and resilience of banking processes.

Who we're looking for

We're open to several backgrounds - what matters most is operational rigor, autonomy, and a builder mindset in a regulated, fast-moving fintech environment.

Requirements (must-haves)

• 3 to 8 years of experience in banking or payment operations, ideally in a Fintech, or within a bank.

• Strong working knowledge of banking systems and payment flows: SWIFT, SEPA, settlement cycles,

multi-currency and FX.

• A builder mindset: you'd rather design a process, control, or automation once than execute the same

manual task twice.

• Solid understanding of the French and European financial regulatory environment.

• Fluent in French and comfortable working in an English-speaking environment.

• Highly autonomous and rigorous, comfortable owning operational outcomes end-to-end.

• Curious, proactive and hands-on, with a problem-solving mindset.

Nice to have

• Experience in a fast-growing startup, scale-up or fintech.

• Familiarity with prudential reporting (ACPR or AMF deliverables).

• Familiarity with blockchain infrastructure or decentralized finance.
