Registered Nurse – Progressive Care Unit (PCU)

Contract | 13-Week Assignment | Days | 3×12-hour shifts | Expected 36 hours/week | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a Progressive Care Unit setting, managing complex cardiac and cardiopulmonary diagnoses including CHF, dysrhythmias, atrial fibrillation, cardiogenic shock, and chest pain
• Administer and monitor vasoactive drips and cardiac medications including Amiodarone, Dobutamine, Milrinone, Cardizem, Heparin, and Insulin drips
• Perform and manage peritoneal dialysis as required for assigned patients
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms; clinicians will be required to pass a proctored, written rhythm identification test upon start (two attempts permitted)
• Care for patients undergoing or recovering from procedures such as angioplasty, LVAD placement, and heart transplant
• Wear Navy Blue scrubs per unit dress code requirements

Required Qualifications

• Active Georgia RN license or valid Compact RN license — must be in hand at time of submission
• Minimum 18 months of IMC/PCU/Stepdown experience within the past 3 years
• Peritoneal dialysis experience required
• Insulin drip management experience required
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — no local travelers

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience caring for LVAD or heart transplant patients
• Familiarity with advanced cardiac monitoring and rhythm interpretation
• Prior travel nursing experience in a cardiac or stepdown setting
