Registered Nurse – Progressive Care Unit (PCU / IMC / Stepdown)

Contract | 13-Week Assignment | Nights | 3×12-Hour Shifts (36 hrs/week)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a progressive care/stepdown setting managing high-acuity cardiac and cardiopulmonary diagnoses including CHF, dysrhythmias, atrial fibrillation, cardiogenic shock, heart transplant, and LVADs
• Administer and monitor vasoactive drips and complex cardiac medications including Amiodarone, Dobutamine, Milrinone, Cardizem, Heparin, and Insulin drips
• Perform and manage peritoneal dialysis for appropriate patient populations
• Continuously monitor cardiac rhythms and respond appropriately to changes in patient status; candidates will be required to pass a proctored, written rhythm identification test upon start (two attempts allowed)
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care for patients undergoing angioplasty, cardiac monitoring, and related cardiac procedures

Required Qualifications

• Active Georgia RN license or valid Compact RN license — must be in hand at time of submission
• Minimum 18 months of PCU/IMC/Stepdown specialty experience within the past 3 years
• Peritoneal dialysis experience required
• Insulin drip management experience required
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — no local travelers

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience caring for LVAD patients and post-heart transplant populations
• Familiarity with cardiac medications including Milrinone, Dobutamine, and other vasoactive agents in a stepdown or PCU environment
• Strong cardiac rhythm interpretation skills
