Position Title: Staff Accountant

Wage: Based on Experience

Our client in Milwaukee, WI is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support daily accounting operations. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a variety of responsibilities including accounts payable, accounts receivable, month-end close activities, account reconciliations, and fixed assets. This is a full-time, direct hire position that offers the opportunity to work remotely 2 days a week after six months of initial training. A strong compensation and benefit package is offered.

Staff Accountant Responsibilities:
- Process accounts payable, including coding, entering, and reviewing vendor invoices
- Generate vendor payments through check runs, ACH transactions, and manual payments
- Reconcile accounts payable and general ledger accounts
- Prepare account reconciliations and assist with monthly and year-end closing activities
- Post journal entries, accruals, estimates, and other financial transactions
- Manage employee travel and expense reporting
- Maintain fixed asset records and accounting documentation
- Post cash receipts and apply payments to customer accounts
- Monitor customer accounts and assist with collections on past-due balances
- Prepare and file sales and use tax, property tax, and 1099 reporting
- Prepare cash flow reporting and other financial analyses

Requirements for Staff Accountant:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or equivalent experience
- 2+ years of accounting experience
- Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and month-end close activities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Excel
- Experience with SAP or another ERP system
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
