The Opportunity

We partner with manufacturers across Norton Shores seeking Payroll Specialists who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.

Key Responsibilities

• Process bi-weekly payroll for all manufacturing employees, including hourly and salaried.
• Ensure accurate calculation of wages, overtime, commissions, bonuses, and deductions.
• Administer and reconcile all payroll-related benefits, such as health insurance, 401k, and FSA.
• Prepare and submit all required payroll tax filings (federal, state, and local).
• Maintain accurate payroll records and employee data in the HRIS system.
• Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, deductions, and tax information.
• Assist with internal and external audits related to payroll.
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations.

Recommended Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience processing payroll for 500+ employees in a manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated proficiency with ADP Workforce Now or similar enterprise payroll systems.
• In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations, including multi-state payroll.
• Experience with time and attendance systems (e.g., Kronos, UKG Ready) and integrating with payroll.
• Strong understanding of payroll accounting principles and general ledger reconciliation.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with an ERP system (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Workday)
• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC)
• Experience with time and attendance systems specific to manufacturing environments (e.g., Kronos, ADP eTime)
• Knowledge of multi-state payroll regulations and tax laws
• Familiarity with union contracts and their impact on payroll processing
