Sr. Staff Scientist - Protein Sciences R&D
Twist Bioscience
Twist Bioscience seeks a senior protein scientist with deep expertise in antibody expression, purification, and characterization to lead protein sciences research and development. The role combines hands-on laboratory work with team building and technical roadmap definition for advancing antibody production capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Develop small- to medium-scale antibody production workflows across multiple formats and purification methods
- Enhance end-to-end antibody development pipeline from construct design through analytics
- Build and manage a team of scientists and research associates
- Design and execute independent experiments with rigorous data analysis
- Establish yourself as subject matter expert and communicate results clearly
Requirements
- Deep hands-on experience designing, expressing, and optimizing monoclonal antibodies
- Proven expertise with bispecific antibody architectures and chain pairing control
- Demonstrated proficiency with antibody characterization methods (SEC, CE-SDS, BLI/SPR, DSF, DLS)
- Strong mechanistic understanding of antibody biology, structure, and expression limitations
- Proven track record developing and standardizing antibody generation workflows
- Ability to build and lead scientific teams while maintaining bench work
