Sr Manager Protein Sciences

Twist Bioscience seeks a senior manager in protein sciences to lead antibody expression and purification capabilities. The role combines hands-on bench work with team building and technical roadmap development, requiring deep expertise in mammalian cell line engineering and antibody optimization.

Responsibilities

• Develop small- and medium-scale antibody production workflows across multiple formats and culture systems
• Optimize end-to-end antibody development from construct design through analytics and purification
• Build and manage a team of scientists and research associates supporting protein sciences work
• Design and execute independent experiments while analyzing data and communicating findings clearly
• Maintain subject matter expertise across all aspects of work and adjacent technical areas

Requirements

• Extensive hands-on experience designing and optimizing monoclonal antibodies with Fc structure-function knowledge
• Proven experience with bispecific antibody architectures and chain pairing control strategies
• Demonstrated proficiency generating and optimizing stable mammalian cell lines, preferably CHO
• Experience with antibody characterization techniques including SEC, CE-SDS, BLI/SPR, and biophysical profiling
• Strong understanding of transient versus stable expression tradeoffs and platform robustness
• Track record building, improving, and standardizing antibody workflows, not just executing procedures
