Job Title: Assembler I Medical Device Manufacturing (2nd Shift)

The Assembler I role performs precise assembly and testing of medical devices under direct supervision, using a variety of tools, fixtures, work instructions, and test equipment. You will work primarily in a cleanroom environment, handling small components and using a microscope for the majority of your shift to help produce devices that are used to remove blood clots and improve patient outcomes. All candidates MUST be open to OT during the weekdays and open to working Saturdays when needed. 2nd Shift 3:45pm or 3:30pm start time to 12:00am (midnight)

Responsibilities

• Understand and follow detailed assembly instructions, documented processes, and standard operating procedures to correctly assemble and test medical devices.
• Use microscopes, hand tools, and measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers to perform small-part, high-volume mechanical and electrical assembly tasks.
• Comply with all policies, guidelines, and regulatory requirements in accordance with the Quality System and cleanroom standards.
• Report problems with product quality, processes, equipment, and materials promptly to the appropriate engineering or supervisory staff.
• Inspect various raw materials and small components, including catheters, to ensure they meet quality and specification requirements.
• Provide hands-on job function training and shadow support to coworkers and new hires as needed after you are proficient in your tasks.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area to support smooth manufacturing operations and adherence to cleanroom requirements.
• Participate in reading and learning SOPs and shadowing trainers on the first day to understand procedures and best practices.
• Work reliably on 2nd shift and be available for overtime during weekdays and occasional Saturdays as required by production needs.
• Perform other related duties as assigned to support production goals and continuous improvement initiatives.

Essential Skills

• Minimum of 6 months of high-volume small-part assembly or production experience, preferably using a microscope.
• Demonstrated ability to work with a microscope for up to 90% of the shift for inspection and assembly of small components.
• Hands-on experience with small-part assembly, including handling and inspecting delicate materials and catheters.
• Ability to work effectively in a cleanroom environment, following strict cleanliness and contamination control procedures.
• Proficiency using hand tools and measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers in a production or assembly setting.
• Strong communication skills to report issues, follow instructions, and collaborate with coworkers and trainers.
• High school diploma or equivalent education.
• Willingness and ability to work 2nd shift and be open to weekday overtime and working Saturdays when needed.
• Consistent work history that supports reliability and commitment to the role.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• 1 to 2+ years of medical device assembly experience is highly preferred.
• Experience working in a cleanroom environment is strongly preferred.
• Prior exposure to medical device manufacturing processes and quality systems.
• Comfort working at close workstations alongside other team members in a manufacturing setting.
• Ability to learn and apply detailed SOPs quickly through reading and hands-on shadowing.
• Entry-level candidates may be considered if they understand what working in a cleanroom entails and are comfortable with microscope-based work.
• Long-term availability for a 1218 month contract assignment.

Work Environment

• This role is based in a manufacturing cleanroom environment where you will work 100% of the time at close workstations on 2nd shift. The 2nd shift start time is typically 3:30 pm or 3:45 pm, with 8-hour shifts plus overtime as required during weekdays and occasional Saturdays.
• You will regularly use microscopes, hand tools, and measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers, and follow strict cleanroom protocols and quality system procedures.
• The position is structured as a 1218 month contract, and expectations around schedule flexibility and overtime are clearly communicated before interviewing.

This is a Contract position based out of Irvine, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $22.50/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
