We are looking for an Accounting Clerk to support a Contract assignment in Avon, Ohio within the gas industry. This role focuses on resolving accounts payable and accounts receivable discrepancies, reviewing missing or delayed invoice activity, and helping maintain accurate financial records. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, comfortable working with high-volume transactional data, and able to communicate effectively with vendors and customers during a 1-2 month engagement.

Responsibilities:
• Review outstanding payable items and identify invoices that have not been entered into the accounting system.
• Reconcile vendor statements to confirm balances, research discrepancies, and correct incomplete records.
• Contact vendors to request missing invoice documentation and follow up on unresolved billing issues.
• Investigate accounts receivable delays by reviewing customer billing activity and matching multiple invoices to the correct accounts.
• Perform accurate data entry for invoice and payment information while maintaining organized financial records.
• Use Excel functions, including lookups, to compare data, track exceptions, and support account reconciliation tasks.
• Assist with invoice processing workflows across payable and receivable transactions to reduce backlog and improve accuracy.
• Support accounting cleanup efforts by identifying inconsistencies and updating records in QuickBooks or similar systems as needed.• Prior experience in an Accounting Clerk role or in accounts payable and accounts receivable support.
• Hands-on experience with invoice processing, account reconciliation, and high-volume data entry.
• Working knowledge of QuickBooks; exposure to NetSuite is helpful but not required.
• Basic to intermediate Excel skills, including the ability to use VLOOKUPs or similar lookup functions.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to spot missing transactions and resolve discrepancies efficiently.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills for coordinating with vendors and customers.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks independently in a fast-paced Contract assignment.
