About the Role
The Company is seeking an Executive Director for Safety, Security, and Emergency Management to serve as the senior safety officer and provide executive leadership in a comprehensive, institution-wide approach to campus safety, risk mitigation, emergency preparedness, and crisis response. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring a safe, secure, and resilient campus environment for all community members. This includes developing and implementing safety and risk mitigation strategies, overseeing campus safety operations, and serving as the Chief Emergency Management Officer. The role also involves maintaining strong partnerships with local and regional public safety agencies, ensuring regulatory compliance, and fostering a culture of prevention and early intervention. Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience, a minimum of 5 years' leadership experience in campus safety, law enforcement, emergency management, or security administration, and a valid driver's license. A Master's degree and additional certifications are preferred. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of safety and emergency management best practices, experience in crisis leadership, and the ability to make strategic decisions in high-pressure situations. Core competencies include crisis leadership, strategic risk management, regulatory compliance, and community-centered safety practices. The role requires a proactive approach to identifying and addressing risks, as well as the ability to lead and manage a team of safety and emergency management personnel.
