Payroll Analyst Nonprofit Organization Contract-To-Hire

A mission-driven nonprofit organization is seeking an experienced Payroll Analyst to support its payroll, general ledger, and benefits functions. This contract-to-hire position reports directly to the CFO.

The contract period is expected to last approximately two to three months before conversion to permanent employment. The position will be on-site for the first 90 days, followed by a hybrid schedule.

Qualifications

• At least five years of payroll experience, preferably within a nonprofit organization
• General ledger and account reconciliation experience
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills
• Experience processing biweekly payroll for 100 130 employees
• Benefits administration experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Process accurate and timely biweekly payroll for 100 130 employees.
• Research and resolve payroll and benefits discrepancies.
• Prepare payroll reports, accounting spreadsheets, and monthly journal entries.
• Transfer labor data into the payroll system and general ledger.
• Reconcile payroll- and HR-related general ledger accounts.
• Train new employees on payroll systems, timekeeping, and coding procedures.
• Partner with the HR Manager to evaluate and administer employee benefit plans.
• Analyze plan designs, costs, and proposed benefit changes.
• Coordinate with benefit vendors, brokers, and third-party administrators.
• Assist employees with benefits enrollment during onboarding and open enrollment.
