The Opportunity
We partner with manufacturers across Lansing seeking Buyers who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage supplier relationships and performance.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with vendors.
- Analyze market trends and production needs to inform purchasing decisions.
- Collaborate with engineering and production to ensure material availability and quality.
- Develop and implement sourcing strategies for direct and indirect materials.
- Optimize inventory levels to reduce costs and minimize waste.
Recommended Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in a purchasing or supply chain role within a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate contracts and manage supplier relationships effectively.
- Proficiency in using ERP/MRP systems for procurement processes.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and production scheduling.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
Bonus Qualifications
- Experience with an ERP system, particularly SAP or Oracle
- Certification in purchasing (e.g., CPSM, CPIM)
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles or Six Sigma
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings or blueprints
