About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean to lead its academic mission with a focus on excellence in optometric education and patient care. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing visionary leadership, fostering a culture of excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service, and supporting innovation in curriculum and educational delivery. This role requires a strategic leader with a strong commitment to accreditation, assessment, and continuous quality improvement, as well as the ability to recruit, develop, and retain outstanding faculty and academic leaders. The Dean will also be expected to strengthen collaboration between the academic enterprise and clinical leaders, promote student success, and serve as an ambassador for the institution within the professional and healthcare community. Applicants for the Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean position at the company should have an OD degree or a PhD with significant experience in optometric education. The ideal candidate will have a distinguished record of academic and professional achievement, experience in strategic planning, and a strong understanding of accreditation and academic quality assurance. Desired leadership characteristics include being a strategic visionary, collaborative, student-centered, and dedicated to developing future leaders in optometry. The role also involves overseeing all educational programs, maintaining accreditation, and actively participating in the development of the annual academic affairs budget.
