Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough preliminary and ongoing assessments to evaluate clients’ mental, behavioral, and emotional health status, ensuring accurate and comprehensive documentation throughout the treatment process.

• Develop personalized intervention and recovery plans tailored to the specific needs of individuals, couples, families, and groups, maximizing the therapeutic impact on client outcomes.

• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, employing evidence-based methodologies to engage and support clients through their mental health journeys.

• Monitor client progress meticulously, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to reflect their evolving needs and ensuring optimal therapeutic effectiveness.

• Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists, physicians, nurses, and social workers, to formulate and refine intervention strategies that enhance client care.

• Provide follow-up services for clients who have been hospitalized, working in coordination with hospital staff to ensure continuity of care upon their return.

• Identify and address behavioral patterns that may hinder recovery, implementing strategies to mitigate these concerns proactively.

• Support family members and primary caregivers in navigating the complexities of mental and behavioral challenges faced by their loved ones.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Our clinic serves a diverse mix of clients, including children, adolescents, adults, and families who may be experiencing a range of mental health challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, or addiction. The ideal candidate will be adept at engaging with individuals from various cultural backgrounds and understanding the social determinants affecting their mental health. You will be instrumental in helping clients articulate their concerns and work toward meaningful solutions that enhance their overall well-being.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.

• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or LCSW-R in the state of New York is essential.

• Successful completion and passing score of the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).

• Demonstrated experience as a mental health counselor, showcasing a solid clinical foundation and theoretical understanding of various therapeutic techniques.

• Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems, specifically AVATAR, for client documentation and record-keeping.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, complemented by strong interpersonal abilities and a nurturing demeanor.

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience implementing best practices in accordance with the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) guidelines.

• Knowledge of psychotropic medications and their effects, particularly those prescribed by medical professionals, to facilitate a holistic treatment approach.
