This position offers a flexible work setting that includes remote work days as well as in-office participation at our outpatient office located in Aurora, Illinois. The counselor will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team and will report directly to the Director of Clinical & Counseling Services. Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations for clients entering counseling programs, developing tailored treatment plans that address individual needs and goals.

• Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions for adolescents and adults, focusing on the impacts of domestic violence and providing therapeutic interventions that foster healing.

• Maintain accurate and confidential records of all counseling activities, adhering to ethical standards and legal requirements.

• Engage in crisis intervention strategies to support clients during periods of acute distress or emergencies.
\n
• Participate actively in clinical supervision meetings, sharing insights and discussing client progress with colleagues to refine treatment approaches.

• Provide comprehensive community resources, referrals, and advocacy for clients to navigate external support systems effectively.

• Attend to administrative tasks, including monthly data reporting, to ensure that the department meets compliance requirements and performance metrics.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

As a Counselor at Maxim Healthcare, your primary focus will be providing therapeutic support to women and teens who have experienced or are currently living in environments characterized by domestic violence. You will also deliver Play Therapy to children, utilizing creative approaches to help young clients express their feelings and process their experiences. You will work diligently to foster a safe environment, empowering clients through empathetic counseling that promotes recovery.

Qualifications\n

• Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health, or a related field is required.

• An active Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) license is essential to qualify for this position.

• Availability to work late afternoons (3-8 PM) at least two evenings a week is required.

• A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are necessary due to community engagement responsibilities.

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience with individual counseling and family interventions is strongly preferred.

• Candidates with previous experience in Play Therapy will be given priority consideration.

• Some weekend availability is favored to accommodate client needs.

Compensation and Benefits\n

This full-time position offers a competitive salary ranging from $70,000 to $105,000 annually, with additional bonuses available.
