Project Accountant

The Project Accountant will support the accounting and financial reporting for utility-scale solar racking projects under ASC 606 (Revenue from Contracts with Customers). This role will work closely with project management, commodity management, and logistics teams to ensure accurate revenue recognition, material and logistic cost tracking, and project level gross margin reporting for large-scale solar projects. The ideal candidate has experience in project-based revenue accounting, and percentage-of-completion accounting, preferable within renewable energy, construction, or manufacturing. Ensureprojectmanagementisfulfillinginthesystemaccordingtoprojectdeliveries Ensurecommoditymanagementisallocatingandcommittingmaterialtosalesorders For“delivered”projectsensureopenSalesOrdersandPurchaseOrdersfortheprojectsaregettingclosedout OwnpreparationofIncomestatementdetailtoensurealldocumentsarecodedtoappropriateprojects Supportexternalauditsrequestsrelatedtorevenue. Maintainproperdocumentationsupportinginternalcontrolsrelatedtoordertocashprocess Partner with IT to continuously improve reporting process and reduce time it takes to do monthly close around 606 Bachelor’sdegreeinAccounting,Finance,orrelatedfield 2–5+ years accounting experience, public accounting experienced preferred 2-5+yearsNetsuiteERPexperiencepreferred Experiencewithproject-basedaccountingorlong-termcontracts StrongunderstandingofUSGAAP: Familiarity with percentage-of-completion accounting Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, vlookups, revenue schedules, modeling) Strongproblem-solvingandanalyticalskills. Excellentcommunicationandusersupportskills. CPAorprogresstowardsCPA Experienceinsolar,renewableenergy,orinfrastructureprojects Abilitytomanagemultipleprojectssimultaneously Strategicthinkingandleadershipexperiencewithanemphasisonrelationshipmanagementandcommunicationatalllevelswithinanorganization.Facilitateandcoordinatemultipledeadlinesandrespondquicklytomanagementrequests.
