UW Medicines Patient Financial Services has an outstanding opportunity for a Patient Account Representative Lead.

WORK SCHEDULE

• 40 hours per week
• Day Shift

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist in the establishment of standards policies and procedures
• Assist with development and maintenance of billing and follow up reference documents
• Respond satisfactorily and timely to requests and questions
• Coordinate with supervisor in assigning reviewing and monitoring quality and timeliness of work and identifying training needs of Patient Account Representatives
• Assist in orienting and training new staff and retraining current staff
• Analyze and review appeals and provide feedback to Patient Account Representatives
• Participate in the PFS closing rotation
• Participate in special projects
• Serve as a Super User for system upgrades and changes
• Assist Patient Account Representatives with obtaining information necessary to obtain retroactive authorizations including letters of medical necessity
• Understand and interpret complex requirements and be able to prioritize and manage updates from multiple sponsors both federal and non-federal. Maintains up-to-date knowledge of requirements
• Work collaboratively with other UW Medicine Departments

REQUIREMENTS

• High School graduation or equivalent AND three years of experience in patient accounting customer service or a related office environment.
• Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements such as a license certification and/or registration.
