Key Responsibilities
- Comprehensively assess patients across all age groups utilizing both standardized assessments and clinical observation.
- Craft tailored treatment approaches that address individual goals, whether they are short-term achievements or long-term communication improvements.
- Deliver personalized speech therapy sessions targeting voice, fluency, communication, and swallowing issues.
- Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, including physical and occupational therapists, to develop unified care plans.
- Engage patients and family members with informative guidance to encourage therapy progress beyond sessions.
- Participate in occasional inpatient evaluations, ensuring a seamless continuum of care.
- Maintain precise and timely documentation that meets all regulatory and organizational standards.
- Keep abreast of the latest industry advancements through continuing education and collaboration with colleagues.
Qualifications
- A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) is required for those not yet certified by ASHA.
Licenses and Certifications
- State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within the first 30 days of employment.
