Job Responsibilities
- Conduct evaluations for patients within pediatric, adult, and geriatric age groups using both standardized tests and observational assessments.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to craft individualized treatment plans that cater to both immediate goals and long-term communication objectives.
- Deliver one-on-one therapy sessions that address various elements such as articulation, fluency, voice modulation, and swallowing challenges.
- Engage cooperatively with nurses, occupational and physical therapists, caregivers, and family members to ensure seamless patient care.
- Provide educational resources and guidance for patients and their families to promote continued progress beyond therapy sessions.
- Assist with inpatient therapies as needed, ensuring that care is consistent and continuous throughout every phase of treatment.
- Ensure all documentation complies with organizational, state, and federal standards, maintaining accurate records of patient progress.
- Engage in ongoing professional growth through continued education and networking opportunities with peers in your field.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) is required unless ASHA certified.
Licenses & Certifications
- Valid state license as a Speech Language Pathologist.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is highly desirable.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within the first month of employment.
