Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Med Surg / Telemetry Discipline: RN Start Date: 10/12/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, days, nights, flexible, rotating Employment Type: Travel Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Medical/Surgical Telemetry – Wisconsin Start Date: October 2026 Location: Madison, Wisconsin Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants Schedule: 12-hour shifts, rotating day/night (0700-1930, 1900-0730), every other weekend rotation, and holidays as needed Highlights: Med/Surg Telemetry unit serving adult and geriatric patients with diverse diagnoses under Family Medicine service Daily census of approximately 20 patients across a 25-room unit with comprehensive interdisciplinary support EPIC charting system utilized throughout the facility Unit includes specialized locked wing for Department of Corrections patients with dedicated security protocols Travel assignment requires telemetry competency exam prior to start with strict passing criteria Work at a Magnet-designated facility ranked among the nation's leading hospitals and teaching institutions Requirements: Active RN license in good standing Minimum 2 years of recent acute care experience in Medical/Surgical specialty BLS Certification (American Heart Association only) EPIC charting experience required Proficiency in starting and maintaining IVs required Strong telemetry skills including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias Experience with Department of Corrections or law enforcement patient population preferred Clinical skills including central line management, PICC lines, PCA pumps, wound care, feeding tubes, and managing ports Must successfully pass telemetry competency exam prior to assignment start Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility (local candidates not accepted) Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only) Willingness to float as needed Why It's a Great Opportunity: This position offers the chance to work at a nationally recognized Magnet-designated academic medical center serving diverse patient populations.
