Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Med Surg / Telemetry Discipline: RN Start Date: 10/26/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, days, nights, flexible, rotating Employment Type: Travel Job Opportunity – Medical-Surgical Telemetry Registered Nurse – Wisconsin Start Date: October 26, 2026 Location: Madison, Wisconsin Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants Schedule: 12-hour shifts (Day and Night rotation: 0700-1930 and 1900-0730), every other weekend rotation, and holidays as needed Highlights: 25-bed medical-surgical telemetry unit with an average daily census of 20 patients Adult and geriatric patient population with a variety of medical-surgical conditions and diagnoses under Family Medicine service Epic charting system utilized throughout the facility Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, physical therapy, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and more Magnet-designated facility ranked as Wisconsin's 1 hospital and recognized as one of the nation's leading teaching institutions Specialized experience with Department of Corrections patient care; secure wing with DOC officer accompaniment provided Requirements: Active RN license BLS certification (American Heart Association only) Minimum 2 years of recent acute care experience in medical-surgical or telemetry specialty Proficiency with Epic EMR system required Demonstrated competency in starting and maintaining IVs Must pass telemetry competency examination prior to start date (strict passing criteria apply) Core skills required: telemetry monitoring and interpretation of dysrhythmias, central line management, PICC line care, wound care/wound vac, PCA pumps, heparin and insulin administration, feeding tube management, and isolation precautions Previous experience with law enforcement/corrections patient care preferred Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only) Candidates must reside 50 miles or more from the facility Willingness to float to other units as needed Why It's a Great Opportunity: This position offers the chance to work at a prestigious Magnet-designated academic medical center recognized for clinical excellence and innovation.
