Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Med Surg / Telemetry Discipline: RN Start Date: 09/28/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, days, nights, flexible, rotating Employment Type: Travel Job Opportunity – Medical-Surgical / Telemetry Registered Nurse – Wisconsin Start Date: September 28, 2026 Location: Madison, Wisconsin Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants Schedule: 12-hour shifts (Day and Night available: 0700-1930 or 1900-0730), every other weekend rotation, holidays as needed Highlights: 28-bed acute care medical unit with a focus on General Internal Medicine, Geriatrics, and Special Pathogens Fast-paced teaching environment within a Magnet-designated academic medical center EPIC charting system used throughout facility Patient population includes complex medical diagnoses and infectious disease specialty care Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and more 20 hours of orientation provided; float to like units as needed Requirements: Active Wisconsin RN license or valid Compact RN license Current BLS certification (American Heart Association only) Minimum two years of acute care experience within the last three years in Medical-Surgical/Telemetry specialty EPIC charting system experience required Previous travel nursing experience required Must successfully pass telemetry competency exam prior to start (strict passing criteria apply) Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only) Must reside 50 miles or more from facility location Essential Skills: Telemetry monitoring and interpretation of dysrhythmias Management of dysrhythmias and use of rapid response/code teams Blood product administration and IV insulin protocols Central line, PICC line, and peripheral line care and management Titration of insulin drips and oxygen administration Non-invasive airway management and isolation precautions/PPE Why It's a Great Opportunity: Join a highly ranked, Magnet-designated academic medical center recognized as one of the nation's leading hospitals and teaching institutions.
