Details Med/Surg Telemetry unit within a Magnet-designated academic teaching hospital Patient ratio of 1:4 Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts, 1900-0730, Monday through Friday Weekend rotation and holiday coverage as needed Floating required as needed Epic EMR experience required Requirements Active WI RN license or compact RN license BLS certification (AHA only) Minimum 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in Neuro Med/Surg Telemetry Epic charting system experience required, within past 12 months preferred Must pass a telemetry exam with strict passing criteria prior to starting Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, and PICC line management Skilled in respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, tracheostomy, and oxygen administration Skilled in neurological/psychiatric care including CVA, TBI, spinal cord injury, and substance withdrawal Skilled in cardiac monitoring including dysrhythmia interpretation and management Skilled in wound care, isolation precautions/PPE, and IV insulin protocols Trauma Level I experience preferred Teaching hospital experience preferred Additional Information Provide comprehensive med/surg and telemetry care including cardiac monitoring, wound care, and medication administration Must pass a telemetry exam with strict passing criteria, including 100% identification of lethal rhythms and an 80% or higher overall score, within a limited number of attempts Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted First-time travelers will be considered if they have 2 years of Level 1 or similar size hospital inpatient neuro experience in the last two years Parking permit required if parking onsite, with alternative transportation options such as bus or park & ride available American Traveler Job ID P-737865.
