Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Med Surg / Telemetry Discipline: RN Start Date: 10/12/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours Employment Type: Travel Job Summary Medical Surgical with Telemetry (MS TELE) registered nurse (RN) position in Madison, WI. This role involves providing high-quality, patient-centered care on a fast-paced 28-bed acute care unit focused on general internal medicine and specialized infectious disease care. The position requires clinical expertise in telemetry and complex medical diagnoses, with a commitment to collaborative, respectful patient care practices. Job Details Location: Madison, WI Position Description: Day/Night, 12-hour shifts, with rotating schedule including every other weekend and holidays. Schedule: Rotating shifts, 12 hours, minimum of 36 hours per week. Required Qualifications: Two years of acute care experience within the last three years, including inpatient RN experience, WI RN or compact RN license, BLS certification, and EPIC experience. Certifications: BLS required. Skills: Blood product administration, central line care/management, interpretation of dysrhythmias, isolation precautions/PPE, IV insulin protocols, management of dysrhythmias, MS/Telemetry, nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, oxygen administration, peripheral line care/management, PICC line management, titration of insulin drips, use of rapid response/code teams. Additional Information: Travelers must pass a telemetry test before starting, with a two-attempt pass/fail criterion. The telemetry exam includes identification of lethal rhythms and answers to questions regarding heart blocks, with specific passing scores. The unit supports interdisciplinary teams including IV, respiratory, pharmacy, and social services, serving adult and geriatric patients with general internal medicine and infectious disease diagnoses. Float: Float rotation may be required. Submittal Requirements: Previous charge experience preferred, along with experience in patient charting using EPIC and telemetry interpretation.
