Job Details Setting: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) Employment Type: Travel Registered Nurse (Travel RN) Schedule: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM) Hours per Week: 36 Duration: 13 weeks Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,160 - $2,270 Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend rotation Call: No call required Orientation: Provided prior to start Location: Madison, WI Job Requirements Active Wisconsin RN license or compact RN license Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications Minimum of 2 years of acute care nursing experience in CVICU or a closely related critical care specialty Travel nursing experience preferred Experience with Epic charting required Telemetry testing experience or strong cardiac rhythm interpretation skills required Trauma Level I experience required Experience with NxStage CVVH/CRRT required Ability to work with high-acuity cardiac surgery and thoracic surgery patients Responsibilities Provide expert nursing care to adult and geriatric CVICU patients with complex cardiac and thoracic conditions Care for patients recovering from CABG, valve repair/replacement, transplant, aneurysm repair, aortic dissection repair, and other advanced cardiac procedures Monitor and manage patients requiring CRRT, IABP, Impella, LVAD, ECMO, and advanced hemodynamic support Titrate cardiac drips, vasoactive medications, sedation, and insulin protocols according to patient needs and provider orders Interpret dysrhythmias, ABGs, and cardiac rhythms while responding quickly to changes in patient condition Support ventilator management, arterial line care, central line maintenance, and other critical care interventions Collaborate closely with physicians, respiratory therapy, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure safe, efficient, and compassionate patient care Adapt to changing patient assignments and unit flow in a fast-paced ICU environment Maintain professionalism, clinical excellence, and a strong commitment to patient- and family-centered care Apply now for this CVICU travel nurse opportunity in Madison, Wisconsin, and join a healthcare team committed to excellence in cardiac critical care.
